Home Care Packages triple in the region

CentacareCQ has expanded their team to cater for the demand of Home Care Packages and NDIS clients in the region.
COMMUNITY care in the Central Queensland region is booming with the changes to Home Care Packages and the introduction of NDIS.
CentacareCQ has expanded their team, welcoming Case Manager Georgina for Home Care Packages and NDIS Plan Facilitator Melissa for NDIS clients.
Many of CentacareCQ‘s younger clients under the Queensland Community Care Services (QCCS) program are being assisted to access the NDIS
program with its wide range of support which, in turn, has helped them to live to their potential.
This has seen clients have technology to enable them, as well as increased time with care workers.
The number of clients with Home Care Packages has nearly tripled and even better many of these clients have high level packages which meet their more complex needs.
This is exciting for CentacareCQ as the organisation is able to assist these clients to get equipment and services they need ensuring they safely stay at home.
This has meant several clients who were going to hospital frequently are now being given the support they need to attend doctor appointments and care for themselves and are no longer having to go to hospital.
CentacareCQ has been able to provide some innovative solutions for clients.
An example of this is a client in Blackwater who has been able to connect with folk from his past.
We supported him to have a morning tea with old friends in Duaringa with the venue provided by the community.
For his next visit a drive out on the road north to where some Road Tek workers were – as this was his occupation they spent time comparing notes.
Clients who may be finding the support they are receiving is no longer sufficient for their needs are urged to phone CentacareCQ to have their support tailored to suit their needs.
