Are you ready to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact? CatholicCare Central Queensland is seeking a passionate and visionary Dementia Services Manager to spearhead our dementia care services and lead a high-performing team into the future.
In this dynamic leadership role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager – Community Care and take the reins in designing, implementing, and refining an innovative, evidence-based dementia care model. Your strategic oversight will ensure our services not only meet – but exceed – best practice standards within the Home Care environment.
About the role
The Dementia Services Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of CatholicCare’s dementia care services. Reporting to the General Manager Community Care, this role provides expert guidance on best-practice dementia support, particularly within the Home Care service context.
This position will be instrumental in establishing and overseeing the Dementia Care service delivery model, ensuring it aligns with evidence-based approaches, organisational priorities, and sector-leading practices. The role also focuses on fostering strong stakeholder relationships, supporting business development opportunities, and championing dementia-related education and innovation across CatholicCare and the broader community.
The primary objectives of this position include:
🔹Lead the design, development, implementation and ongoing refinement of a dementia care service delivery model, ensuring continued alignment with evidence-based best practice and evolving service needs;
🔹Provide specialist advice and internal leadership on evidence-based dementia care practices;
🔹Oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of dementia-specific programs, resources, and QMS documentation;
🔹Drive strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership development and business growth initiatives specific to dementia services; and
🔹Promote dementia awareness and education internally and across external care networks and communities.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Tertiary qualification in health, allied health, social work, aged care, nursing, or related field
✅ Registration with AHPRA (if applicable)
✅ Minimum 5 years’ experience in team leadership, preferably in Aged Care, Health or Social Services
✅ Project or change management experience
✅ Current QLD C-Class driver’s licence
✅ Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector
✅ Strong understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed care principles
Key Skills & Competencies:
✔ Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage high-performing teams
✔ In-depth knowledge of evidence-based dementia care, research, and innovative practices
✔ Experience building service models and ensuring compliance with quality and risk frameworks
✔ Exceptional communication and advocacy skills
✔ Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership development capability
✔ Knowledge of funding and regulatory frameworks in aged and dementia care
✔ Analytical mindset with high digital literacy for planning and reporting
✔ Business development experience to grow impactful services
