About the role:
As part of the Transport Team, the Transport Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and client-focused transport services using CatholicCare fleet vehicles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing transport services using CatholicCare buses and cars
- Supporting clients by providing appropriate information about transport services
- Conducting vehicle inspections and risk assessments to ensure client safety
- Reporting incidents and hazards in line with organisational procedures
- Promoting CatholicCare transport services within the region to support program viability
Qualifications and Experience
- Current C or CA Class Driver’s Licence (QLD)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Authorisation Licence
- Experience in transport services or community care (desirable)
- Experience driving 10–12 seater vehicles (desirable)
Core Competencies
- Professional and effective communication skills
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Basic numeracy, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to confidently use computers and handheld devices (phones, iPads)
- Ability to conduct appropriate risk assessments
Other Requirements
- Sound knowledge of basic administrative practices and procedures
- Strong computer literacy
- Willingness to operate any allocated fleet vehicle, including 10–12 seat buses or vans
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, with start times from 7:00am.
- Based on the Capricorn Coast, with some workdays in Rockhampton
The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.
