Support at Home is the new Government program replacing Home Care Packages from 1 November 2025. It provides older people with the care and support needed to stay living at home.

Understanding Support at Home Classification Levels

When you are approved for Support at Home, you’ll be assigned a classification level based on your care needs. Each level comes with a quarterly budget that determines how much government funding is available for your care and services.

    Quarterly Budget: $2,674.18

  2. Level 2

    For low-level Ongoing support
    Quarterly Budget: $3,995.42

  4. Level 4

    For higher care needs
    Quarterly Budget: $7,386.33

  5. Level 5

    For complex care needs
    Quarterly Budget: $9,883.76

  6. Level 6

    For more complex needs
    Quarterly Budget: $11,989.35

  7. Level 7

    For very high care needs
    Quarterly Budget: $14,530.53

  8. Level 8

    For the highest level of in-home care
    Quarterly Budget: $19,427.25

There are certain criteria that must be met to be eligible for an aged care assessment.

The Australian Government has an online eligibility checker. If you meet the eligibility criteria you can apply for an assessment straight away. You can also call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422.

The government subsidises the cost of your care, but you may be asked to contribute based on your income.
