Shine a light on Domestic Violence Awareness – May 27
Posted on May 15th, 2020
In these challenging times of social distancing, CentacareCQ invites Central Highlands residents to stand together on one special night in May in aid of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
On Wednesday, May 27 at 7pm, the community is invited to light a candle in remembrance of the lives lost as a result of domestic and family violence.
CentacareCQ invites residents to share the “Shine a Light on Domestic Violence Awareness” event on their Facebook page.
People are also welcome to show their support by posting a photo of their candle in the event page.
CentacareCQ provides supports and services to adults, children and young people who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, domestic and family violence.
These confidential services are offered at our Emerald site, and via outreach to surrounding areas.

In the spirit of reconciliation, CatholicCare recognises the traditional custodians of the land. We pay our respects to the Elders – past, present and future – for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.
