As Bishop Michael prepares to conclude his time as Bishop of Rockhampton, we take this opportunity to acknowledge and sincerely thank him for his many years of dedicated service, leadership, guidance, and support of us here at CatholicCare.
Throughout his time with the Diocese, Bishop Michael has played a very important role in shaping the direction and strength of our organisation. Bishop Michael’s leadership spanned a period of significant growth and change for us. As we have evolved, Bishop Michael has overseen many of our key milestones, including our name change from CentacareCQ to CatholicCare Central Queensland, and our incorporation as a company. Over the years, Bishop Michael’s support and steady presence have helped to guide us forward, from strength to strength.
While these moments of change and evolution have helped define who we are today, what has remained constant throughout Bishop Michael’s tenure has been his commitment to the role CatholicCare plays in the lives of people across Central Queensland. His encouragement and support have helped ensure that individuals, families and communities continue to be met with care, connection, kindness, and practical assistance whenever it is needed most.
